Stent options

Choose the stent that fits the case

We offer two proven stent materials for transferring your approved wax-up to the patient. Both replicate every detail — pick by clinical preference.

Exaclear

High transparency & fine detail

Exaclear captures fine details from wax-ups with exceptional accuracy, delivering outstanding aesthetic results chairside.

  • Outstanding transparency for clear visibility
  • Optimised for light-curing composite
  • Captures fine surface detail precisely
  • Best for aesthetic try-ins & composite mock-ups

EVA

Pressure-formed & customisable

Our EVA stents are pressure-formed to accurately replicate every detail of the wax-up — with optional customisations to fit your workflow.

  • Pressure-formed for precise replication
  • Optional drain holes for easier seating
  • Durable & reusable for multiple try-ins
  • Best for functional mock-ups & splint-based use

Scan & impression requirements

Upper and lower scans or impressions required. Digital scans preferred — they produce the most accurate wax-up designs and come with free 3D printed models.

Looking for something different?

If neither of these stents fits the case, get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate your specific requirements.

How it works

Scan to signed-off design

A simple three-stage process — you stay in control of the outcome from scan to sign-off.

01

Send the case

Upload upper and lower scans (or send impressions) along with any notes on the patient's treatment goals.

02

Digital design

Our technicians digitally sculpt the wax-up over the patient's existing teeth using 3D design software, then send the design to you for review.

03

Review & print

Approve as-is or request adjustments. Once signed off, we 3D print the model and produce the stent of your choice.

Common questions

Before you send a case

Everything you need to know about scans, design review, and stent choice.

What scans or impressions do you need?

We need upper and lower scans or impressions, plus as much case information as possible — the patient's treatment goals, any specific concerns, and notes on the desired aesthetic outcome.

Digital scans are preferred and produce the most accurate wax-ups — they also come with free 3D printed models.

Can I request changes to the design?

Yes — every wax-up is sent to you for review before we print anything. You can approve as-is, request adjustments to tooth shape, length or contour, or completely rework specific teeth. No models or stents are produced until you give the final sign-off.

Which stent should I choose — Exaclear or EVA?

Exaclear is ideal for aesthetic composite mock-ups where transparency matters — the clinician needs to see what they're doing under the light cure.

EVA is ideal for functional mock-ups, temporary restorations or cases where durability and reusability matter more than see-through. EVA also supports optional drain holes for cleaner seating.

Still not sure? Get in touch with the case details and we'll advise.

Can I order a different type of stent?

Yes — if you need a different stent material or format not listed here, get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate. We're set up to handle bespoke requests and unusual case requirements.

What do I receive when the wax-up is complete?

You receive a 3D-printed model of the approved wax-up and the stent of your choice (Exaclear or EVA). Everything you need for chairside try-in, patient presentation, or composite mock-up work.
