Why bring it to a lab, not a shop
A denture repair looks simple, but it’s a precise job. The broken edges have to be lined up exactly and rebonded with dental-grade acrylic so the denture is as strong as it was before — and so it still fits. Get the alignment wrong by a fraction and the denture rocks, rubs, or won’t seat at all.
We’re an actual dental laboratory, so the repair is done on-site by our technicians — not sent away. That’s why we can turn most repairs around the same day rather than in a week.
How quickly can it be repaired?
In our experience, the answer for most people in Christchurch is “today.”
- Simple breaks — a snapped plate or a single lost tooth — are usually done within the hour if you walk in.
- Most other repairs are completed the same working day.
- Posted dentures are repaired within 24 hours of reaching us and sent straight back.
- Out of hours, our weekend repair line (07307 858772) covers the emergencies that always seem to happen on a Saturday.
Tip: for a guaranteed same-day turnaround, get the denture to us in the morning. That gives our technicians time to repair, reinforce and check it properly before closing.
What we can repair
We handle the full range of denture problems direct to the public:
- Cracked or snapped acrylic plates
- Dentures broken clean in half — rebonded and, where it helps, reinforced with a metal strengthener so they’re less likely to break in the same place again
- Broken, chipped or lost teeth — shade- and size-matched to the rest, and we can usually reuse a tooth you’ve kept
- Broken or loose metal clasps
- Chrome/cobalt and flexible dentures, as well as standard acrylic
- Full and partial dentures
- Professional ultrasonic cleaning to lift staining, calculus and plaque home cleaning can’t reach
Keep every piece. Pop all the fragments — including any small chips or a loose tooth — into a sealed bag. The more we have to work with, the stronger the repair.
Do I need to see a dentist first?
For a repair or a clean — no. You can come straight to us.
There’s one honest caveat, and it matters: relines, adding new teeth, and other alterations must be prescribed by a dentist. That isn’t us being awkward — under the GDC’s scope of practice, those are clinical decisions that have to be made by a registered dentist. Straightforward repairs and cleaning we can do without one; if your denture needs more than that, we’ll tell you and point you in the right direction.
So if your denture is loose rather than broken, it usually needs a reline or rebase rather than a repair. We do both — on a dentist’s prescription. Bring a note from your dentist, or ask us and we’ll help you sort one.
What it costs
No surprises:
- Standard repair: from £60
- Professional clean: from £30
- Out-of-hours / weekend repair: from £90
We’ll always look at the denture first and confirm the price before doing any work. If a repair isn’t the sensible option, we’ll say so — see “repair or replace” below.
Three ways to get your denture to us
- Walk in. Drop it in Monday–Friday, 8:30–5:30. No appointment — and for simple jobs you can often wait while we do it.
- Post it. Out of the area or can’t get in? Package it securely with a note of what’s wrong and send it over. See our postal options for how to pack and send it safely; we repair within 24 hours of arrival.
- Out of hours. Call 07307 858772 at the weekend for emergency repairs.
Repair or replace?
A clean break is almost always worth repairing — it’s quicker and far cheaper than a remake. But if a denture has broken repeatedly, no longer fits, or the teeth are heavily worn, a repair is a false economy. We’ll give you a straight answer rather than just doing the fastest job, because a denture that keeps cracking is usually one that’s stopped fitting and needs relining or replacing.

Areas we cover
We’re based in Christchurch on the Dorset–Hampshire border, so we’re easy to reach from right across the BCP area and the New Forest. As well as walk-in repairs for Christchurch, Mudeford and Highcliffe, we regularly help patients from:
Further afield? Post it to us — patients send dentures from all over the UK.
Why patients trust us with it
Bridge Dental Laboratory has been making and repairing dental appliances from Dorset since 1978. We’re a family-run, GDC-registered, DAMAS-accredited lab — the same technicians who make precision appliances for dental practices repair your denture. That means a repair that’s strong, fits properly, and is done by people who do this every day.
Common questions
Can you repair a denture the same day in Christchurch? Usually, yes. Simple breaks are often done within the hour if you walk in, and most repairs are completed the same working day. For a guaranteed same-day turnaround, get the denture to us in the morning.
Can a denture broken in half be repaired? Yes — we rebond dentures snapped in two with high-strength dental acrylic, and can add a metal strengthener so it’s less likely to break in the same place again.
Should I glue a broken denture myself first? Please don’t. Household glue isn’t food-safe, discolours the denture, and almost never aligns the pieces — a botched glue repair can turn a quick fix into a full remake.
Can you replace a missing or broken denture tooth? Yes. We match the shade and size of the surrounding teeth, and can usually reuse a tooth you’ve kept.
My denture is loose rather than broken — can you help? Yes. A loose denture usually needs a reline or rebase. These are carried out on a dentist’s prescription, so bring a note from your dentist or ask us and we’ll guide you.
Can I eat normally after a denture repair? Yes, once the repair has fully set. Stick to softer foods for the first meal, and we’ll tell you if you need to wait at all.
Do you repair chrome and flexible dentures? Yes — we repair chrome/cobalt and flexible dentures alongside standard acrylic. Bring it in and we’ll advise.
Broken a denture today? Walk in to our Christchurch lab, post it to us, or get in touch — and at the weekend, call 07307 858772. We’ll repair it, clean it, and get it back to you ready to wear.
